Counselling Skills - Level 2 Online Course

Important Information:

This is a 12-week (approx. 120 hours) Online Self-Study qualification course. It can be started anytime and accessed (via a learning portal) at times/days to suit you.

Register your interest and we will email you an application pack - learning cannot be started until these forms are completed and submitted.

Once all forms are submitted and approved we will send you further information on accessing the Learning Platform.

You can only apply for one course at a time however upon completion you can enrol on a further 2 courses per academic year.

Please note to enrol on this course learners must:

• Be aged 19+ on the 31/08/2025
• Learners must be a UK resident and legally living in the UK on the first day of learning. (proof required)
• Due to Government funding criteria, we are unable to accept learners who live in London, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland, Ireland or a devolved postcode areas. Please check with us if you are unsure.

Counselling Skills - Level 2 Qualification

This online self-study course allows you to study at your own pace at a time and day that is convenient for you, gaining a level 2 qualification.

Course Information

Many people find it helpful to seek counselling at some point in their lives, and a counsellor can provide support for people in all sorts of situations.

If you're interested in supporting people to improve their personal well-being, this course will provide you with the correct understanding, knowledge and skills to do that.

You will also be taught about counselling theory and the ethical framework that informs how counsellors use their skills.

Course Content:

• Describe how core counselling skills can be used in a counselling relationship and in other helping activities.
• Describe how counselling theory underpins the use of counselling skills.
• Describe how the ethical framework informs own use of counselling skills.
• Describe how to develop skills and qualities in the future

How Will I Learn:

All learning will be online (self-study) and can be completed at a time that suits without the need to attend college. Dedicated tutors will provide written feedback on the assessments and ongoing remote support where required.

The course includes online learning materials in the form of interactive resources and flipbooks, a personalised login to access the online learning portal will be given on enrolment.

Are there any exams or assessments?

You will be required to work through a series of tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and demonstrate your knowledge. Your personal tutor will then assess your work and provide you with constructive feedback for each unit.
