Event description

Description

This is the first of two seminars aimed at helping SME’s to make informed decisions about actions they will need to take to continue to grow their businesses when Brexit arrives. Whatever the outcomes of Brexit, one thing is clear, the business landscape will change considerably and impact upon all SMEs.

“Countdown to Brexit” will uniquely bring together experts in law, finance, economics, IP and procurement to give business owners an easy to understand overview of what might happen once the UK leaves the European Union. The event will examine current thinking and look at opportunities and issues as they stand now. SME’s will be given information and support to help them make the right decisions for their individual businesses and to plan ahead for changes that could affect them.

The event will not be addressing the politics of Brexit or promoting a particular view. It is designed to be a stimulating and very practical event to aid businesses in their thinking and to help identify actions that SMEs need to be taking now, to plan for the biggest change in how we do business for over 40 years.

The programme include talks by experts from the Bank of England, the Intellectual Property Office, an economist and legal and procurement experts .... plus Brexit specialist Bryan Ellis , After a networking lunch, sessions will turn to exploring new opportunities with talks by the North East Chamber of Commerce’s International Trade Team, The Intellectual Property Office, business finance specialists, including the North East Fund partners. The North East England Chamber of Commerce will also offer their view on the changes that leaving the EU may have on SME’s.

Each session will be interactive and participants will have the opportunity to meet contributors, one-to-one, after the event concludes. The Programme for the day includes
