Event description

Description

Don’t miss our young adult retreat on the theme of countering consumerism, which will be an opportunity to meet likeminded people and reflect on how our faith can inspire us to transform our world.

What does it mean to be holy? And what does holiness have to do with climate change?

Pope Francis offers some ideas in his letter, Gaudete et Exsultate (Rejoice and Be Glad). He encourages us to open our eyes, ears and hearts, to be unsettled by the words of the Gospel and expand our often-limited horizons.

We are invited to be disturbed by faith, challenge the culture of consumerism and respond to the Pope’s profound invitation to care for our common home and find our own path to holiness.

This retreat is specifically designed for young adults (aged 18-35) from all over England and Wales. There will be a range of engaging activities that will inspire and motivate you to help counter consumerism, as well as an opportunity to take a break from the busyness of everyday life and have fun!

Food will be provided and then prepared by the group. Everyone is welcome, so if you’re interested then we’d love you to come along!

It will be held at Salesian House, 47 Surrey Lane, Battersea, London SW11 3PN from 4pm on Friday 22nd – 2pm on Sunday 24th March.

The retreat is only £5 to cover the cost of food and accommodation over the weekend.

Places are limited so make sure you book your place soon!
