Event description
Country Mile is back, and this time we're celebrating half a century* of gigs! (*In number of gigs, not years since we started)

About this Event

We are very excited to be back at the Star of Kings, for our 50th ever gig!! Postponed from January, we're in our socially distanced set-up again, with this fantastic line-up:

JORDAN BROOKES (Edinburgh Comedy Award winner 2019; Jonathan Ross' Comedy Club; The Mash Report; E4's The Paddock) - "Keeps the laughs coming... Glorious" - Telegraph; "Keeps hitting laughter buttons with precision… Crazily, adorably funny" - Scotsman

MAISIE ADAM (QI; Have I Got News For You; Mock The Week; Hypothetical; 8 out of 10 Cats; Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee 2018) - "One of the most exciting new talents on the circuit" - I Talk Telly; "Everything Adam says is hilarious" - Beyond The Joke

SARA BARRON (Live at the Apollo; Hypothetical; Frankie Boyle’s New World Order; Hello America; Roast Battle; Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer nominee 2018) - "Deliciously dark, brutally honest and unapologetically filthy" - Herald; "Wickedly funny" - Scotsman

JACOB HAWLEY (BBC Sounds’ Jacob Hawley: On Drugs; Ladhood; BBC New Comedy Award finalist 2017) - “As adept with a quick punchline as he is a deeply personal story” - Sunday Post; “Already shaping up as a must-see staple in the years to come” - List

IAN SMITH [MC] (The Now Show; writer for The News Quiz; Sweat the Small Stuff) - “A riot of sprightly silliness” - Chortle; “Catch him now before his inevitable jump to the big time” - Telegraph

CHARLIE GEORGE (Chortle Awards Best Newcomer nominee 2020; So You Think You're Funny? runner-up 2019; writer for Charlie Brooker’s Antiviral Wipe) - "Hilarious and no messin'" - BBC Asian Network Comedy; "A personable & witty comic with a playful, naughty streak and an ear for a strong gag" - Chortle

MARY O'CONNELL (Stand Up For Live Comedy; Funny Women Awards finalist 2020; writer for The Now Show) - "A force to be reckoned with" - Chortle

ADRIAN GRAY (Roast Battle; Feel Good; BBC Three's Quickies) - "Inventive and deeply silly" - Three Weeks

Please note the following:

We are currently preparing our future gigs in line with the Tier 2 restrictions announced in November 2020 (inc. restrictions on ordering alcohol) - if anything changes, we will let ticket holders know!

When buying tickets, please do not leave any empty seats - each table or section is now reserved, and for *ONE HOUSEHOLD ONLY*. There are some single seats by the bar, but a limited number.

ARRIVE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE

Doors open at 6:45PM for a 7:15PM start - please arrive at the pub and take your seat downstairs as early as possible, to ensure a safe, socially distanced entry, and to reduce delays to the gig. All seats at the show have been reserved in advance to ensure social distancing, and you will be shown to your table / sofa upon arrival downstairs and presentation of your e-ticket.

FOLLOW SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES

Please follow social distancing guidelines throughout the venue - remain at least 1m apart from those not in your household group and wear your mask at all times.

As it is no longer possible to queue and order at the bar, you will need to scan the QR code on your table upon arrival, to sign it to Track & Trace, and order food and drinks to your table, either online or through the pub's app. If you wish to order and drink alcohol, you will need to also buy a “substantial meal”. You do not need to order food if you are not drinking alcohol.

There will be two 15 minute intervals, so you have time to order drinks online, go to the toilet or use the outside smoking area. To keep everyone safe and to comply with the new regulations regarding movement in pubs, audience members will be required to stay in their seat for the performance, and during intervals.

WEAR A MASK

In line with government guidelines, all audience members will be required to bring and wear a mask/face covering during the performance. These can only be removed when eating and drinking.

Hand sanitiser will be available on the door but we suggest you also bring your own if possible.

Please note that we cannot admit individuals who are self-isolating, or anyone experiencing symptoms.

If you have any questions or concerns about the gig, please feel free to get in touch.
