About this event
Whilst the rules during the pandemic prevented us from attending events, at Femme Country Magazine we made it our priority to ignite excitement back into the country calendar. After watching our subscriptions surge dramatically in the Covid era, we were eager to host a unique style event that mirrored the publication’s interior contents and created a tangible connection between our readers and brands.
Our debut runway in 2022 saw guests travel from all areas of the UK to secure front row access to an event which had never been seen before in the country industry. Today we maintain our values, ethos and mission, working with luxury fashion and lifestyle brands to showcase the vision of their collections and the diversity of the women wearing the garments.
Dramatic lighting, a full audience and the chance to see collections displayed live, are all factors that drive this extraordinary celebration of rural fashion. We combine cutting-edge technology with a live runway to ensure seamless presentation, implementing features never seen before to create a runway that endeavours to exceed expectations.
The event will take place at the beautiful 'De Grey Rooms' in the heart of York's city centre. The ‘De Grey Rooms’ was built in 1841 to house the Yorkshire Hussar Regiment of Yeoman Cavalry. The runway will take place in its grade-two listed ballroom, which boasts a neo-classical style with glistening chandeliers, elaborate cornice designs and an open ceiling!
Included with your ticket into the event, you will receive a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival, a gift bag full of goodies courtesy of Femme Country waiting for you on your seat, a copy of the official fashion show brochure... and a chance to network with renowned names inside the country fashion industry.
Sponsors yet to be announced, but rest assured we have some renowned names appearing alongside some of the most loved independent labels on this year's runway.
Frequently asked questions
The nearest train station is 'York Railway Station' which is only a 10 minute walk away from The De Grey Rooms. Travel by rail in under two hours from London; Edinburgh is just two-and-a-half hours away; and there are regular direct services from Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.
There is no general or disabled parking on site. There are a number of car parks nearby, but space can be limited, so please allow enough time to park and walk in. The closest car parks are Bootham Row (YO30 7BP), Marygate (YO30 7DT) and Union Terrace (YO31 7ES).
The De Grey Rooms is completely wheelchair accessible. Head to the big gates at the front of the building, which lead to a carpark. A few metres ahead of you is the Accessible Entrance, which leads you directly to a platform lift. Once inside, hold down the button for Floor 1 until the lift stops.
You can't book accommodation directly at The De Grey Rooms, however York is full of beautiful hotels and most in walking distance from the event. The nearest hotels are Dean Court Hotel, Grays Court Hotel, Malmaison, The Grand and The Radisson.
The event is set to be an elegant, luxury evening to match the interiors of the ballroom. We are asking that all guests dress smart and for Gentlemen to wear a smart blazer or shirt.
You will receive a complimentary glass of champagne with every entry ticket, however there will be a bar open all evening for you to purchase any alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
