Voluntary Action LeicesterShire are holding a County Challenge Session to take an in-depth look at the top priorities and concerns for the VCS and forming new strategies to address them. The first sessions will look at funding, specifically focusing on creating new ways to fund the VCS, issues with writing funding applications and grants to enable sustainability for VCS groups.
Earlier this year we surveyed the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) in the county to identify the top priorities for the sector. The top 3 priorities identified were:
- Partnership Working
Following this work VAL have decided to hold three County Challenge Sessions to take an in-depth look at these priorities. The first of these will tackle the priority of funding and the issues of:
- Creating new ways to fund the VCS
- Issues with writing funding applications
- Grants to enable sustainability for VCS groups
- A mix funding approach from funders
The format of the session will be a facilitated workshop discussion to create real actions for both the Statutory Sector and the VCS to take away and deliver.
