A great opportunity to meet like minded people and exchange ideas whilst building upon your Girlguiding knowledge and skills.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GIRLGUIDING HERTFORDSHIRE WEBSITE PRESENTLY, INCORRECTLY, ADVERTISES A DC RENS SESSION WITHIN TIMESLOT 2 (11.10AM - 12.10PM) . THE SESSION WILL ACTUALLY BE GO COMPLIANCE (FOR DCS ONLY). THE WEBSITE INFORMATION WILL BE UPDATED SHORTLY

This county network and development day is for all Girlguiding Hertfordshire volunteers aged 18+,and is a great opportunity to meet like minded people, exchange ideas and build upon your Girlguiding knowledge and skills.

There is no charge for attending.

Arrival, registration and welcome from 9.15am with the first sessions starting at 10am.

16 sessions will run throughout the day split across 4 one hour timeslots. Bookings for each are on a first come, first serve basis.

Please ensure that you only book 1 option from each timeslot i.e. one session 1, one session 2, one session 3 and one session 4, to ensure you don't double book. You can choose a maximum of 4, subject to availability. You do not need to come all day just for what timings suit you.

Sessions are:

Session 1: 10am - 11am

  • Young Leader Development Programme (YLDP)
  • Budgets and Finance (you will need to bring your own laptop with the Girlguiding unit accounts spreadsheet - downloadable from the county website. If you would like help starting/completing you unit accounts or have issues you'd like assistance with resolving, please bring all your account paperwork with you).
  • Programme - ideal as a refresher or for newly qualified leaders
  • Challenging behaviour happens for a reason - the Inclusion team

Session 2: 11.10am - 12.10pm

  • Ready Set Lead - a resource for Guide leaders produced by Guides
  • Spread the word of Guiding using the press, social media, websites and word of mouth. - The media and communications team
  • GO compliance (for DC's ONLY) please note the information on the county website has this session listed incorrectly as DC REN's , and will be updated shortly with the correct session name.
  • Sustainability - Greener Guiding, how to make your unit more ecofriendly

Session 3: 1.10pm - 2.10pm

  • Tradional Brownies - activities, skills and songs
  • Trustees training - (for TRUSTEES only)
  • Gift aid
  • 'It couldn't happen to me pt1' - Risks that could affect all - book with pt2 session 4

Session 4: 2.20pm - 3.20pm

  • Traditional Guides - activities, skills and songs
  • WAGGS
  • GAW - going away with licence
  • 'It couldn't happen to me pt 2' Risks that could affect all - book with pt1 session 3

Round up, thank you and goodbyes: 3.30pm - 3.45pm

If a session you are interested in does not appear as a 'ticket' option this is because it is fully booked.

A marketplace will be running throughout the day with various stalls.

Uniform should be worn, where applicable.

Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be provided but please bring your own lunch. Paper cups will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own mug/thermos.

Limited parking is available on site so please car share where possible.
