Description of course

These are challenging times for practitioners. Workloads have increased making it hard to find the time to be reflective. New face-to-face protocols are often frustrating and anxiety-producing. Remote working can mean reduced interpersonal cues, feelings of isolation and fatigue. All this may leave us feeling unsupported and struggling to maintain a healthy work life balance.

This is a transformative experience where you will meet in a closed group. In a series of twelve workshops, you will be led through guided self-reflection and creative exercises, to expand your self-awareness and creative capacity. Through discussion and creative tasks, you will be invited to explore your creativity and facilitated to find what supports your development.

Objectives and Outcomes from the course

WORKSHOP 1 – SAFETY

This week we invite you to establish a sense of safety, which will enable you to explore your creativity with less fear. We explore Core Negative Beliefs and Affirmative weapons.

WORKSHOP 2 – IDENTITY

This week we invite you to explore self-definition. We encourage you to draw new boundaries and stake out new territories. We explore our Shadow and find our Circle of Light.

WORKSHOP 3 – POWER

This week we invite you to explore anger and shame. We will look at these two Great Saboteurs and the healing of Self-Compassion

WORKSHOP 4 – AUTHENTICITY

This week we invite you to consider the following statement: ‘In order to have self-expression, we must first have a self to express ‘ We explore your Past Self and your Future Self and Access to Change.

WORKSHOP 5 – POSSIBLITY

This week we invite you to examine what limits you and keeps you stuck. We will explore self-deprivation and how by saying ‘NO’ can give you freedom by Finding your Path and Your Forbidden Joys.

WORKSHOP 6 – ABUNDANCE

This week we invite you to tackle two common major blocks – the deadly duo: Prideful Perfectionism and Creative Anorexia. We will explore a Lack Mentality and an Abundance Mentality.

WORKSHOP 7 – CONNECTION

This week we introduce you to connect with yourself. We will explore Deep Listening to enhance cognition and creativity, and Collaging to connect to ourselves through spontaneous imagery.

WORKSHOP 8 – STRENGTH

This week we invite you to explore the early conditioning and patterning that may have led you to settle for less than you desired or to make choices based on the expectations of others. We ask you to Find Your Flow and Tap into your Power.

WORKSHOP 9 – COMPASSION

This week we invite you to explore your Creative U Turns and the fears that stop you from starting a ne project or making changes in your life. We ask you to visualise the future you desire and overcome your defences by Facing Your Fear and Blasting Blocks.

WORKSHOP 10 – SELF PROTECTION

This week we invite you to explore how self-protection can be the obstacle you face on this journey. We will look at what may be holding you back and how you can begin to let go through the exploration of Change Itself and Embracing Change.

WORKSHOP 11 – AUTONOMY

This week we invite you to trust that the path you have chosen to walk is yours and you have worked hard to get there. This path belongs to you. Trust that NOW is your time.

WORKSHOP 12 – SAY HELLO TO YOUR NEW SELF

This session will be dedicated to your achievement and how far you have come on your personal creative path. We will be exploring what it has meant for you and how you have changed. This workshop will celebrate the NEW YOU.

Who should attend

This Practitioner Space is aimed at Mental health practitioners, e.g. clinical supervisors, art therapists, play therapists, counsellors, social workers, youth workers, SENCO’s, teachers, mentors, and life coaches.

Delphine Spencer. Director of Calmwaters Therapy Service, has over 30 years’ experience of working in Social Services, both as a Social Worker/Reviewing Officer and currently as an Art Psychotherapist.

She currently works for a number of Adoption Agencies providing Attachment-Focused Therapy for adopters and their families. She provides group supervision for facilitators and mental health professionals in the voluntary sector and is an Academic Advisor and tutor at a leading Therapy Institute. She has wide experience of facilitating mental health groups for women.

In private practice she also provides extensive support for the Black LGBTOIA+ community and supervision for counsellors and therapists.

Jan Hall. Director of NeuroTribe UK provides therapeutic support for Neurodiverse (SEND) children & families. In private practice she provides Art Psychotherapy and Creative Coaching and Clinical supervision for Mental Health Professionals in both NHS and Education.

She is a Clinical Lead and supervisor for an Art Psychotherapy service for families and children referred by Social Services, Adoption Teams and Children’s Projects. She provides group supervision for facilitators and mental health professionals in voluntary sector.

She has extensive experience of working with CYP in both mainstream education and alternative provision and within multi-disciplinary teams providing art therapy groups for sexual offenders on a forensic wards and support to young offenders and victims of DV.

Fee of £900 inc VAT is for registration for the full 12 week programme.
