-----FOR LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST STAFF ONLY -----

Practitioners must be able to conduct themselves with confidence in the courtroom and present information accurately and informed by the evidence. The aim of this course is to increase participant’s knowledge and awareness of the legal framework relating to public law applications and court structures.


Learning Outcomes

►To be aware of the powers, duties and procedures of family courts

► To understand the roles and responsibilities of social workers and other professional witnesses

► To consider issues related to ‘evidence’ and threshold criteria

► To understand how to prepare and present evidence


Target Group

► All Social Workers and Senior Practitioners in Children and Families


Objectives

► Through discussion and case studies, delegates will gain an understanding of the family court system in the context of their day-to-day work
