Couture Roses with Lomax and Skinner
Mon 12 June 2017, 10:00 – 16:30 BST
This Master class will give you the skills needed to create classic roses out of cotton organdie, perfect for use in hat trimming, bridal headdresses, corsages etc. Using couture methods, you will learn how to make beautiful blooms, from painting the fabric with subtle tones to hand rolling the organdie petals and building the finished flower.
This course is suitable for both beginners and those wishing to refine existing skills. All materials and equipment will be supplied but please bring a small box with which to take your finished piece home in.
Small hat boxes will be available to buy on the day at a cost of £15.
The workshop leaders are Sarah Lomax and Rachel Skinner who met over 25 years ago whilst serving their apprenticeships for Frederick Fox, the Queen’s milliner.
In 2013 they formed Lomax and Skinner, a partnership rooted in the highest quality of workmanship, shared love of design and long established friendship.
The workshop will take place in the gorgeous A.S.APOTHECARY shop and tea, coffee, and a delicious lunch will be provided.
