Coventry Lord Mayor’s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation invite teachers and home educators to bring up to 3 students from years 6 to 9 (age 11-14) to talk to peace activists and organisations fighting crime and violence at:

Coventry Young People’s Peace and Reconciliation Conference 2019

on the afternoon of Friday 8 November 2019 in Coventry Council House.

Part 1: Voices of Delegates

Voices of Students

Students will explain how they feel about violence, peace, justice and reconciliation.
What problems do they face? What do they think needs to be done?

Voices of Activists

Teachers, Police, PeaceMakers, Restorative Justice facilitators and members of the community will talk about what they are already doing to promote safety and peace and what challenges they face.

Part 2: Brainstorming

Delegates will divide into mixed groups to brainstorm what more can be done to reduce violence and conflict and increase safety, peace and reconciliation.

Part 3: Presentation of Ideas

Students will say what action they want to take in their school or community.
Adults will explain how they could support them.

Part 4: Announcement of Future Project

Coventry Lord Mayor’s Committee for Peace and Reconciliation will announce how they will help young people, schools and peace activists put their ideas into practice.
