Event description

Description

FWAG SE and Affinity Water working together have combined to bring you a series of cover crop demonstrations throughout the south east.

You are invited to view the demonstration plots here at South Alkham and hear about the latest in cover crop biology, agronomy and technology, to help you to grow cover crops successfully on your farm.

Cover cropping is increasing in popularity on farms in the UK, and has the potential to bring multiple benefits in terms of soil health and improved water quality. But the practice doesn’t come without its potential problems as well. This morning’s event will highlight the advantages and will suggest ways in which those problems can be overcome.

We are very lucky to have Jamie Stotzka as one of our speakers. Jamie has extensive experience in mycorrhizal fungi and rhizobacteria and their interactions with and effects on agricultural crops, an important but little understood part of the soil health picture.

Paul Brown from Kings will be giving us the benefit of his wide experience with cover crops, explaining the advantages and disadvantages of the different species and mixtures.
