Covid-19 and the future of devolution in England
Event Information
About this event
Has the pandemic shown that governance in England needs an overhaul? The row between central government and the leaders of Greater Manchester highlighted the centralising response to Covid-19 by the British government and the nature of the asymmetric model of devolution in the UK, but what does the future hold for devolution in England?
In this briefing, our experts will join Nick Pearce (Director of The Institute for Policy Research, University of Bath) to explore governance and devolution in England; attitudes towards English governance, and what the future holds for English devolution.
- Michael Kenny (University of Cambridge)
- Ailsa Henderson (University of Edinburgh)
- Patrick Diamond (Queen Mary University of London)
There will be an opportunity to ask our experts questions and these are welcome in advance and during the event. You can submit these via email centre.constitutional.change@ed.ac.uk or by including this in the order form on Eventbrite.
This event will take place on Collaborate. A link to join will be sent to attendees prior to the event.
Please note that this event will be recorded and the footage made available via YouTube following the briefing.
