Cowane’s House Big Dig

The 22nd to 27th September 10-3 will see the first ever archaeological excavation at Cowane’s House, an incredibly rare medieval building in Stirling. The excavation which is open to everyone will explore the history of the building and its predecessors.

The Stirling Photography Festival will access exclusive, behind the scenes tours of the dig, the results to date and the building. You will have the chance to explore and be some of the first to photograph a building that’s not been open to the public in a decade.

John Cowane's House is in the ownership of the Cowane's Hospital Trust, Scotland's oldest charitable trust. You can learn about the Trust here and read a little more about John Cowane's House here.

Participants under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
