CPD- Collars & Necklines suitable for Teachers & Small Textile Businesses
Mon 7 November 2016, 09:30 – 16:00 GMT
Make it- Fashion Style Features; Collars & Necklines
The aim of this intermediate course is to build on the skills and knowledge of teachers and small textile business owners who have completed our introductory pattern, construction and sewing courses, or have some previous sewing/pattern cutting experience. Focus will be on collars and necklines; fashion style features that are transferrable from one garment to another.
During this one day course a range of necklines and collars will be studied. To really understand the process of creating these style features, the pattern will be constructed, cut out, sewn, then placed onto the dummy and analysed. There will also be an opportunity to experiment and drape directly onto the dummy.
Skills and knowledge gained will include: using pattern cutting equipment and expanding your pattern cutting and sewing skills, to understand general principles and apply them to create a range of collars and necklines, either from pattern or directly working on the dummy.
A light lunch will be provided
