CPD Event - Linda MacAvoy - Client Crises and Family Feuds

The issues which our clients bring into counselling room are diverse and complex but almost always concern their closest relationships. Changes and transitions or unexpected crises in the lives of loved ones can throw the whole family into turmoil. The effects of this range from sadness and discomfort to relentless conflict, or complete family breakdown.

This CPD will look at what commonly goes wrong in family life today, the more problematic stages of child and adolescent development, conflicting parenting styles and tools for resourceful parenting in the modern age.  We will also cover the special challenges of post-divorce and step-families and the damaging effects of parental alienation on both adults and children.  

The training day will be interactive and will include group discussion, pairs work, role play and analysing scenarios from real client cases.
