About this Event
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD-OUT. WE WILL RUN THE SAME EVENT ON TUESDAY 16 MARCH, 14:00-16:30. YOU CAN BOOK TICKETS FOR THAT DATE HERE.
In 2020 the Widening Participation sector made a huge shift to online learning, and with practitioners unlikely to be in school for some time, online delivery is here to stay. In the Spring term Causeway Education is running two CPD sessions to support you and your team in planning and delivering outstanding activities in this uncertain context. These practical workshops aim to provide the ideas, inspiration and confidence you need to plan, deliver and quality-assure workshops of the highest standard.
At Causeway we design and deliver over 100 different workshops a year, from student-facing sessions to staff CPD, and are experts at creating learning experiences which meet concrete objectives.
To ensure our CPD workshops are interactive in an online setting, we have restricted the number of attendees to 15.
Workshop 2: High-impact online delivery: Strategies for virtual engagement and learning
Adapting your face-to-face delivery for online learning isn't as simple as flicking a switch. Which activities work well online? How do you assess student learning and engagement? This two-and-a-half-hour session will help you develop an approach tailored specifically to online learning, with plenty of examples of practical activities that will motivate and inspire participants.
You will leave with:
- Increased confidence to plan and deliver engaging online sessions safely
- New approaches and activities to implement straightaway
- Causeway’s practical Online Delivery Framework to help you plan and quality-assure your online workshops

About Causeway Education
Causeway is a small, ambitious charity with national reach, supporting young people to overcome barriers in accessing higher education.
We exist to ensure that progression is not determined by privilege. We believe that, with the right support in exploration, choices and applications, all young people can find and realise their ambition.
In our unequal society, some young people face far greater challenges than others in accessing Higher Education. Dedicated teachers, advisors and outreach professionals work tirelessly on redressing these inequalities. We are there for all those confronting these barriers, helping to bring about:
Expert support
We give teachers the skills and resources they need to ensure all their students can navigate HE applications effectively.
Transformational outreach
We help universities, charities and corporates to develop initiatives which inspire and equip participants to take their next steps.
Outstanding applications
We support students directly, providing impactful workshops and mentoring to help them successfully clear the hurdles of a complex application process.
