Join us after work at Stanmore College, North West London, for a combined SET networking event and LSRN #FEResearchMeet, for those interested in Practitioner Research in Education. We're looking forward to a range of quickfire presentations and interactive discussion to support your teaching and learning journey.

You're very welcome, whether a qualifying, new or experienced teacher, or working towards Masters or PhDs in adult, further and community education. Attendees are welcome to bring along their own research ideas, queries and papers if they have them, so that they can discuss their experience and get some support for their own work.

The event agenda is as follows:

  • Overview of support for practitioner research

  • 'A brief overview of practitioner research and some basic approaches to research methods' with Dr Sai Loo, Lecturer in Education, UCL Institute of Education

  • Q&A

  • Research frames, resources, and the experiences of attendees

  • 'Educators' research-engaged literacies practices contribute significantly to learning outcomes and professional wellbeing' with Tara Furlong, Director, Designing Futures Ltd

  • Q&A and close

It will be a prompt 5pm start, but those travelling from further afield and arriving later are welcome to come in.

Near the M25, A1 and M1; Jubilee line (connects to Metropolitan); and multiple bus routes. More here https://stanmore.ac.uk/Location

The Society for Education and Training is a community of practitioners and professionals across the post-14 education sector. Local Network Groups (LNGs) are an opportunity for our members to meet face to face so that together, they can share and develop their practice.

The Learning and Skills Network is an open network enabling people interested in research and the use of evidence to share ideas and work together. It has no formal structure or funding stream. People volunteer for tasks and sponsors help support activities. Convenors organise events in the regions and a National Planning Group does the same nationally. The community is bound together by common purposes and values.
