Society for Education and Training (SET) is a community of practitioners and professionals across post-14 education. SET Local Network Group events are your opportunity to meet people from across the sector, share knowledge and to reflect on the Professional Standards, the framework for effective practice in teaching and education. All those who attend will receive an attendance certificate.
Join us for the first event in Leicester this academic year. The interactive talk will discuss the habits of positive people and how we can apply this to our roles as educators so we can love being in the 'classroom' (however that may look) and light up the people in our care to their own possibility. In this session we will:
- understand the impact of giving to ourselves on a daily basis. If we do not give to ourselves consistently, then we end up drained.
- focus on our purpose. When we know ‘why’ we are doing our job, the how and the what take care of themselves.
- understand the impact that we are having on the world and how we can build stronger relationships with others
You can also hear about opportunities from SET and the ETF in Further Education, vocational teaching and training. This includes events, courses and resources for teachers, trainers, practitioner researchers and leaders.
All those who register for the event will be signposted to resources that can help you engage with the Professional Standards and steer your learning. Parking is available at site and also at Rutland Street NCP.
