CPFT Live: Annual Members' Meeting
Wed 7 September 2016, 17:00 – 20:00 BST
Folk star Emily Maguire has been confirmed as the headline act at CPFT Live – the Annual Members’ Meeting of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.
Acclaimed for her music by Radio 2, Emily has released four albums, with another on the way, and has toured with the likes of Don McLean, Aztec Camera’s Roddy Frame, and Dennis Locorriere from Dr Hook.
She has also spoken openly of her experiences of bipolar disorder, and has written a book, Start Over Again, which includes a reference to her time as a patient at The Trust’s Fulbourn Hospital site, in Cambridge, nearly 20 years ago.
The evening will be a chance for people to find out more about the work of the Trust over the last 12 months and about what is planned over the year ahead.
As well as mental health services, CPFT provides integrated community, learning disabilities and social care services. The Trust also has a thriving research and development division, working on a huge range of ground-breaking studies.
Keynote speakers will include Ashley Curry, a recovered obsessive compulsive disorder sufferer, and staff from the Trust’s Windsor Research Offices will show off some interactive experiments. Further speakers will be confirmed shortly.
CPFT Chair Julie Spence said: “We hope as many people as possible will come along to our Annual Members’ Meeting. We’re are delighted to have Emily performing some of songs, as well as Ashley who is an inspirational speaker, and staff from our research division.
“It will give all those who attend the chance to find out more about our work, meet our staff and ask questions about our future plans.”
Refreshments will follow the meeting.
Parking is available in Sainsbury’s Coldhams Lane, right opposite the venue.
Before the Annual Members’ Meeting, CPFT’s Council of Governors will meet at the C3 Centre between 3pm and 5pm. Anyone is welcome to attend.
