Topic 1: Helping Hertfordshire's hedges - Wednesday 11th January 2026 - 13:00-14:00 GMT
Hertfordshire's countryside, like much of rural England, is criss-crossed by hedgerows. Some are old, some are new, but all of them tell the story of how our countryside has grown and changed. This presentation will look more in depth at the ecology, history and geography of this remarkable habitat, and give you a thorough understanding of their protection, and a view to how we can learn to value them again.
Topic 2: The Year Ahead in Planning: What to expect - Wednesday 11th February 2026 - 13:00-14:00 GMT
This presentation and discussion will provide an update on key policies including the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), Planning and Infrastructure Bill and Land Use Framework, and how those changes impact housing development in Hertfordshire and the alarming implications for our countryside.
Topic 3: Devolution and Local Government Reorganization: What does it mean for Hertfordshire’s countryside?
Join us for the latest update on devolution and local government reorganization in Hertfordshire and the implications for the planning process and Hertfordshire’s countryside.
