A Career in Quality – a guide to attaining PCQI and CQP status

The CQI presents opportunities to gain professional qualifications in Quality. In a competitive environment, these qualifications are proving ever more valuable for those seeking career progression.

Susanne Carpenter MCQI CQP and Shane Blaney PCQI will be discussing their journey to gain professional status, and will outline the competency requirements, application process and routes to attaining PCQI and CQP status.

The objectives of this event are:

  • Understanding the competency framework
  • Understanding the competencies required for PCQI and CQP status
  • Understanding the application process
  • Knowing the supports available from CQI and CQI Republic of Ireland Branch

This event gives an overview of the core competencies, and provides examples of how evidence of competence in these areas can be presented.

Speaker Details:

Shane Blaney

Shane is currently Quality Manager within Designer Group, bringing over 15 years’ industry experience to his role. For Designer Group, he leads a team of 17. Quality Engineers and Quality Controllers, working closely with Project Stakeholders and Specialist Subcontractors. Shane is focused on implementing the appropriate measures to ensure compliance with design specifications and Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR), delivering the unique quality outcomes of each individual project. He drives the development of new processes and lean activities, liaising with multiple departments to ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards. Shane trains, assists, mentors staff and provides guidance to team members, helping to resolve issues that may arise. Shane’s work experiences include transitioning to the ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 standards and successfully integrating the QMS with the BSI PAS 1192 accreditation. Shane has attained a BEng in Engineering, Post Graduate Cert in BIM & National Craft Certificate (electrical). He is a member of Engineers Ireland and a practioner CQI.

Susanne Carpenter

Susanne Carpenter MCQI CQP is Quality Manager with Benetel.

Benetel develops leading edge hardware platform solutions for 4G/LTE eNodeB Small Cells. Offering off-the-shelf baseband and RF modules in a variety of frequency bands and output powers as well as design and test services, Benetel enables OEMs to radically increase the speed to market of the newest LTE network infrastructure.

With a highly skilled team specialised in RF Design and Design Verification Testing (DVT) and over 15 years’ experience developing ultra-efficient and compact hardware powered by industry-leading chipsets, Benetel eNodeB solutions support increasingly challenging wireless applications in areas such as Public Protection and Disaster Relief and remote connectivity.

Susanne has more than 20 years’ experience in Quality, working with Leading Telecommunications and Electronics companies including Motorola, Teradyne and Intel.

Susanne is also an experienced external assessor and is an EFQM Assessor and ISO Lead Auditor. Her areas of expertise include Quality Management Systems implementation, Lean, 6 Sigma and Supplier Management.

This event is relevant to current and prospective members who wish to advance their careers through attaining PCQI or CQP status
