CRA announces 13th annual Risk & Safety Forum: Risk & Safety in the Digital Age

Leading risk, safety, and human factors consultancy Corporate Risk Associates (CRA) has announced that its annual Risk and Safety Forum will take place in Oxfordshire on the 14th and 15th of September.

The event, which is a highlight of the industry calendar for risk and safety practitioners, will be held at the Oxford Belfry Hotel, where delegates will benefit from a rich programme of training and networking opportunities attended by senior risk, safety, security, and human factors experts operating in the nuclear, transportation and other low-carbon energy sectors.

This year, the event will explore risk and safety in the digital age. Experts operating in the nuclear, transportation and other low-carbon energy sectors, will talk about the latest developments in areas such as climate change risk and resilience, cyber security, and probabilistic safety analysis.

They will be present for this 13th edition of the CRA Risk & safety forum as well as other speakers to share their experience on digital topics:

  • Yusuf Warsama - Technical Sales Manager at Mammoet

After obtaining his MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Yusef joined Mammoet as an Engineer in the cranes and rigging team producing lifting drawings and safe systems of work for the Mammoet core cranes business. Along with day to day engineering of contract lifts he has also been a key member of the project team helping to engineer and execute range of heavy lifting projects throughout the UK. More recently, Yusef has moved to the sales team undertaking the role of technical sales manager to be an ambassador of the services.

  • Andrew Buchan - Chairman at The Safety and Reliability Society (SaRS)

Andy has over three decades of experience in nuclear safety working on various operational and decommissioning challenges at the Sellafield site. He now heads a team which considers severe accident risks within Security and Resilience. He is currently chair of The Safety and Reliability Society (SaRS) which shares good practice across a wide range of high hazard industries.

  • Adam Towse - Head of Simulation and Assessment at Assystem

Adam has experience in leading analysis teams and developing methods to justify design in a variety of sectors including automotive, nuclear, oil and gas. His experience includes stiffness, strength, fracture, fatigue and damage tolerance, collision and impact, noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH), pressure vessels and fluid dynamics. Adam has previously worked in education, oil drilling, adhesives research. He has also served as an engineering officer in the Royal Navy.
