Screen-printing on Silk
Learn how to design, hand dye, and screen-print your own unique silk scarf for Christmas presents, or to keep for yourself.
Experience the satisfaction in making your own product from beginning to end in the 2.5 hour period.
-drawing out your scarf design (to save time it would be best to bring an idea with you) , paper cuts and stenciling
-printing with silk screens
-working out colourways
-mixing silk dyes, and pigments
Suitable for beginners, as well as those with some experience.
Silk, and materials included, but please bring your own apron.
Please note there will be other fabrics, and smaller pieces of silk to try out. You're also welcome to bring your own.
However dyes for base cloth will only be for silk.
You will be taught by Michèle Oberdieck, a contemporary designer of textiles and glass. She has designed collections for both fashion and interior markets, as well her own label.
