Get together and get crafty!

About this Event

Crafting, knitting, sewing and making…the beauty of these is that you can do them solo and without leaving the house. But sometimes, a bit of social crafting is just what we need!

Yarndale and Great Place: Lakes and Dales have joined forces to organise a virtual making club. We’ll be getting together on Zoom (for now) each month to chat while we make. Bring a glass of wine, a cup of tea, a slice of cake or even all three and let’s share the joy of making, together. It’ll be a great chance to meet new people, share your hobbies and maybe even try out a new craft or two.

Whether you knit, crochet, paint, whittle, weave or would like to start getting into a new crafty hobby come along to try it out!

What? - Monthly ‘get-togethers’ to socialise and do crafty things.

Who? - Open to all, male, female, experts, novices, young, old...

Why? - Make friends, socialise, be creative, make time for yourself, share skills and knowledge, try out new creative activities, drink tea/coffee, eat cake.

When? - Third Thursday of each month, from 6pm for a couple of hours (open to feedback if another time is more convenient for more people)

Where? - Online via Zoom for now...

Please be aware that because we'll be online and want to chat, any noisy hobbies (e.g. pottery using a wheel, woodwork using electrical tools) are not suitable.

All materials should be provided by the attendee themselves, so if you're starting from scratch with a creative activity please make sure you have the equipment/materials you need.

Great Place: Lakes and Dales (GPLD) is a partnership programme working to help increase the number of 16 – 34 year olds choosing to live and work in Craven and South Lakeland by using arts, heritage and culture to influence long-term social, economic and environmental changes. Collaborations between creative producers, local authorities, businesses, education providers, cultural organisations, marketing professionals, decision-makers and other influencers mean that we can test and try-out new ways of working, create innovative resources, inspire exciting conversations and deliver unique events, all to show that this is where you can #LiveMoreDoMore.
