What you'll doDiscover the art of bookbinding with jeweller-turned-bookbinder Kate Grimes. In this hands-on workshop, you'll create a beautiful double pamphlet book with a sewn-in cover while mastering essential techniques.During this workshop, you'll:

  • Learn about paper grain direction
  • Make and use your own sewing pattern
  • Measure cover paper to fit book signature
  • Bind your book with a five-hole technique

What are the next steps after my course?

Once you have completed the course, you will be able to book and use the Items you have had training on, on a pay as you go basis. We have a range to available bookings on our website at www.powworkshops.com

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting dusty. For health and safety purposes, please make sure shoes are closed toe, hair and clothing is not loose and jewellery is removed to avoid getting caught, snagged or dragged by tools or machinery.

Will I need to bring tools/materials?

At POW, we will provide all tools and materials needed for any of our courses.

Is there disabled access?

There is currently no wheelchair access at POW.

Where can I access food/ drinks?

POW offers a small kitchen where customers can access water, tea and coffee as well as a microwave to heat food. We have many small local shops, coffee shops and bakeries in the surrounding area as well as being a 5 minute walk from Asda. Our team will happily give recommendations.
