About this event

Arts • Craft

Join us for a relaxing afternoon exploring sashiko, the traditional Japanese art of decorative reinforcement stitching. Originally developed as a way to strengthen and repair textiles, sashiko has evolved into a beautiful craft celebrated for its geometric patterns and meditative rhythm. This workshop is part of our celebration of East and Southeast Asian Heritage Month, highlighting the rich textile traditions and craftsmanship from across the region.

Please note there will not be a Thursday session at Deptford Lounge this month.

Discover the joy of crafting at Catford Library every second Saturday of the month and at Deptford Lounge every fourth Tuesday of the month. These relaxed sessions are perfect for adults of all skill levels - whether you're a seasoned crafter or complete beginner. Connect with fellow makers, learn new skills, and be part of an inspiring creative community. All materials provided. Make something meaningful while making new friends at your local library!
