Overview

“Spike-crowned and triple-tongued”: Piecing together fragments of unfathomable beings

Join us to stitch, embroider, stick, and embellish textile creatures inspired by those occupying the Sci-fi and Fantasy genres. Using fabric, thread, and trimmings, everybody will have the opportunity to craft their own three-dimensional creature and together we will consider how we use our own visual language to translate otherworldly beings from the written word. This playful workshop is suitable for all abilities and experiences. Participants are welcome to bring their own inspiration, however materials, equipment, guidance, and literature will be provided.

Kitt Glover (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist who works with hand crafted textiles, drawing, and performance. Their practice explores animals and our connections with nature in playful ways that challenge binary and colonial definitions. They graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 2022 and are currently living and working in SE London.
