Description

A 3 hour workshop (plus lunch) with Ghina M. Halabi, space scientist and storyteller.

Learning outcomes:
• Discovering the narrative elements and structure, and the value of a good story
• How to present your research story through a narrative lens: data-telling versus storytelling
• The communication gap: identifying deficiencies in today's science communication
• Reflecting on scientific jargon and making science accessible using alternative vocabulary
• Conveying science in resonant soundbites for different social media platforms
• Cutting through the fog: Tools and tricks to deliver a memorable talk whether to the general public or expert audience.


Includes:
- 3-hour in-person storytelling workshop and a session on presentation skills
- Handouts for participants (digital and hard copy)
- Editorial support and guidance for publishing a blogpost on Scheherazade Speaks Science
