Workshop Overview
This workshop is a delightful journey into the history, culture, and flavours of authentic Turkish coffee. Under the expert guidance of Ayşe Kapusuz, participants will explore the heritage of this centuries-old tradition while preparing and tasting different varieties of Turkish coffee, including Traditional, Coquettish, and Tatar styles.
The session begins with a cultural and historical overview of Turkish coffee, enriched with visual presentations. Participants will then learn the unique brewing techniques that distinguish Turkish coffee, using the traditional cezve pot. Alongside the coffee, carefully selected Turkish delights will be offered, complementing each cup and highlighting the rich culinary connections within Ottoman tradition.
The highlight of the workshop is hands-on brewing, where you will learn the proper techniques for preparing Turkish coffee, discover the meanings attached to coffee rituals, and experience the joy of sharing this drink within a communal setting. By the end of the class, you will not only have tasted a variety of authentic brews but will also carry with you the knowledge and appreciation of Turkish coffee culture.
This workshop blends:
Demonstrations: Brewing techniques explained step by step by Ayşe Kapusuz.
Hands-on practice: Prepare your own Turkish coffee using the traditional cezve, with expert support.
