Description

Aged 16 – 25 and interested in craft and making?

Join us at our next meeting with batch.works to plan a workshop as part of our annual festival of new making Make:Shift:Do!

Come along if you love to make, if you would like to gain event planning and delivery experience, or if you are just keen to find out more— all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome!

What's happening at this month's meeting?

  • Make:Shift:Do and Mozfest workshop planning

Crafts Council’s Make:Shift:Do will be taking place Friday 27th and Saturday 28th October 2017. Make:Shift:Do is the Crafts Council’s annual festival of new making and a celebration of craft innovation. You can find out more and see if there are any events near you here.

As part of Make:Shift:Do we will be hosting workshops at Mozfest - the world's leading festival for the open Internet movement – on 28th October at Ravensbourne College, London. We will be working with 3D printing lab batch.works to deliver the workshops, which will invite participants to work in a sort of ‘micro-factory of the future’ exploring auto-print 3D printers and the future of open source communities of making.

  • We will be hearing from batch.works about their auto-print 3D printers and how they are made, we will test out the workshop as a group and then plan how to deliver it at Mozfest. Come along if you are interested in learning about 3D printing processes and/or gaining practical event planning and delivery experience.

  • We will also talk about the opportunity to work towards an Arts Award Qualification.

  • Pizza and refreshments!

We will also be meeting on Thursday 26th October at Crafts Council in Angel for final planning and testing of the workshops before Mozfest.

If you would like to come along to support the delivery of the workshops at MozFest on 28th October then you can sign up on the night or email participation@craftscouncil.org.uk for more information.
