We welcome complete beginners to experience our tools and have fun with clay and metal!

About this Event

This workshop is designed to boost your craft skills or gain new ones! - join us to learn a variety of techniques.

• Ceramics •

Come enjoy an evening of being creative, learning traditional skills on the pottery wheel, always wanted to try for fun?

Make your own bowl, and vessel on the wheel, have some fun designing your own tiles and learning new hand-building skills.

The class is designed to bring fun into ceramics, a great chance to meet new people, and enjoy an evening with friends.

POTTERY TUTOR - FINOLA

Finola Thomas has a Master of Desgin Specialising in Ceramics and Visual Research.

Designer and Maker of her own bespoke ceramics.

Creator of Pop Up Pottery Events since 2014, making the ceramics workshop available for people to experience the craft of ceramics. She believes everyone should be creative and have access to a potters wheel and equipment!

All materials included, we provide you with aprons and tools. There is no limit to how much you can make, however, there is a £10 firing fee which is optional.

• Metalwork •

Learn and practice the basic jewellery making skills including piercing (sawing!), soldering, forming, finishing and polishing. Using copper and small amounts of silver, learn about the material and how it works, including wirework, sheet metal work, wax carving and gemmology!

Learn the process of kiln and torch enamelling on copper and steel.

Learn how to use and care for jewellery workshop tools and machines.

*Jewellery benches and materials provided*

You will be able to take away what you make ! Silver will be sold by weight if you'd like to take your creations home, copper is free!

JEWELLERY TUTOR - JESS

Jessica Hargreaves graduated from Brighton uni with a Masters of Design specialising in Jewellery & Metalwork, and has worked as a jeweller. She now makes unique metal & enamel homeware, as well as teaching jewellery making from the studio.
