Event description

Description

Craigmillar Books for Babies is celebrating its 20th year in the community. In partnership with Castlebrae Community High School, we will be hosting a special community screening of the film Resilience followed by a discussion panel with local representatives from education, health and the wider community. The film Resilience looks at the biology of stress and the science of hope and centres on the ground-breaking Adverse Childhood Experiences Study (ACES) in the USA. It is being watched in communities all over Scotland as part of a major grass roots movement here to address Adverse Childhood Experiences in this country. The screening and discussion panel will be facilitated by Dr Suzanne Zeedyk who runs Connected Baby and was instrumental in organising and hosting the Scottish Tour of the Resilience film.

The event will take place in Castlebrae Community High School and a crèche will be available for local families. Refreshments will be provided.
