KEYNOTE SPEAKER - Anthony Gill, (British Cycling)
"Developing and nurturing athletes to help them achieve."
Former international sprint cyclist Anthony Gill has competed all over the world. Having ended his competitive career as World and European Masters champion on the velodrome, he now works for British Cycling as a Regional Development Manager.
Anthony will talk about developing young athletes and linking it to the processes used at British Cycling, including the well-regarded system of 'marginal gains'. Learn how clubs and coaches can help nurture their young members to help them achieve their own personal goals.
Joanna Baxter, (Craven College)
"Data recording and Athletic Performance."
Joanna will discuss the application of data recording linked to athlete performance, including inertial sensors, EMG, 3-D kinematics and plantar pressure analysis.
Paul Royston, (Keighley Cougars)
"Sports Science in Action".
Paul is currently Performance Director and Head of Strength & Conditioning at Championship Rugby League team Keighley Cougars. Hear him talk about planning, monitoring and targets for improvement of Players and Team Performance in a Semi-Professional Rugby League environment.
Mark Singleton, (Sports Psychologist)
"Elements of Applied Sports Psychology and Mindfulness in Sport."
Since qualifying from the University of Edinburgh (M Phil Clinical Psychology 1979) Mark has over thirty years experience as a Chartered Psychologist helping people change their thoughts, emotions and behaviour. He has worked in mental health with adults, children and families.
Since gaining an MSc (Merit) in Sports and Exercise Psychology from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) in 2011, Mark has been developing a service in Sports Psychology.
