Help launch a UBI project in Malawi by joining us to watch this beautiful film about a UBI project in Uganda

About this event

This event is a film screening and Q&A that aims to raise money for- and awareness of World Basic Income's brand new UBI project which is starting soon in Malawi.

The film: For two years from 2017, everyone in Busibi, Uganda, received an unconditional basic income. The community allowed filmmakers to document how their lives changed and the result is a feature length film called Crazy Money, to be screened at this event.

The project: Five years on and 2,000 km further south, the people of Msokonezi village, Malawi are about to be told that they will get an unconditional basic income too. This event is raising money for that project, so that people in Msokonezi can pursue new opportunities and create the lives that they want.

The plan:

3:30pm Arrive and welcome. Full bar and cake stall available.

3:45 - 5:15pm Screening of Crazy Money

5:15 - 6:00pm Q&A with Laura Bannister from World Basic Income

We would like to give big thanks to the Carlton Club for hosting this event for free, and also to Eight and to the people of Busibi for allowing us to screen the film for free.
