Who is the course for?
Basic sewing machine and patchwork skills are required.
If you have not used a sewing machine before, you will need to have access to a machine and you will benefit from attending one of our 'Get to Know your Sewing Machine' workshops as well as one of our patchwork for beginners courses.
The course is aimed for anyone who would like to make something a little different for their home or even to give as a gift.
Will I have to provide anything?
For these sessions, please bring along the following equipment:
The only essential piece of equipment to bring is your sewing machine.
All haberdashery and material will be provided. Please see below if you wish to purchase your own choice of fabrics.
- 3 x 0.5m of contracting fabrics (1.5m in total) - assorted colours and
- patterns including light, dark and contrast
- 1 x 0.25 binding fabric
- 1m x wadding
- 1m x backing fabric
- Sewing machine
- Sewing machine manual (if you have it)
- Sewing kit (thread, scissors, etc)
- Rotary cutter, cutting mat and acrylic ruler (these can be provided to use if required)

Alternatively, you could purchase through an online store such as Hobbycraft.
