Join award-nominated British writer-directors Elliot & Zander Weaver (Elliander Pictures) for an exclusive virtual Q&A on their journey from ultra-low-budget independents to globally streamed sci-fi filmmakers.

Elliot & Zander Weaver are British writer-directors and founders of Elliander Pictures, known for their emotionally charged, visually striking sci-fi storytelling. With over three decades of industry experience between them, the brothers have created content for Discovery, PBS, Canal+, Rai, Facebook and Oculus VR, as well as streamers Netflix and Prime Video, earning Royal Television Society Award nominations for their broadcast documentary work. They’ve amassed credits on everything from BBC scripted drama to commercials for PlayStation, Bentley and Smirnoff.

Their debut feature, the contemporary sci-fi Cosmos (2019), was produced for just £5,000 and went on to become a touchstone for independent filmmakers worldwide. Acquired by Gravitas Ventures, the film premiered in West Hollywood, received a U.S. theatrical release, secured the brothers L.A. representation and streams globally on Hulu, Apple TV, and Paramount+ with over 10 million hours streamed on Prime US.

In summer 2025, Elliot and Zander shot their second feature, a 16mm shot sci-fi film with their third feature film, Arctic Skies, beginning production this winter, starring Morfydd Clark (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Saint Maud)

The brothers remain cheerleaders for the strengths of indie filmmaking - dedicated to crafting stories that rekindle awe, courage and belief in what cinema can be.
