Want to make your organisation's data stand out from the crowd but don't have the money or know-how to make it happen? Say goodbye to mountains of text and hello to visually exciting data with this new course from Superhighways.

Images are faster to process than words. Turning your complex monitoring information into graphics makes them easier to understand and visually appealing for your funders, supporters and beneficiaries.

It's the perfect way to get your message across in the shortest time possible and reveal patterns and observations not immediately apparent from reading statistics hidden in paragraphs.

Is this training for me?

This course is for anyone working in a voluntary or community organisation that is responsible for reporting and communicating outcomes. You will need intermediate level computer skills but you do not need to be a techie to take part.

By the end of the course you’ll be able to:

  • Identify free and low cost digital data visualisation tools

  • Choose the right visuals for your monitoring information

  • Create infographics using free online tools

  • Download your creations for use in reports, on websites and more

You'll come away with some great tips on use of charts, icons, colour and design principles to craft meaningful visuals that help you connect to supporters and beneficiaries.

As this course is completely hands on, giving you time to put into practice what you have learned at each stage, we have built in a working lunch. Please bring something to eat, and we will provide tea and coffee!

Sorrel Parsons works on the Impact Aloud project at Superhighways. With more than 12 years of supporting voluntary and community organisations and volunteers in the UK, she is a huge fan of making digital work on a shoestring.

Kate White has been managing and developing Superhighways for more than 10 years and has a wealth of experience in voluntary sector use of ICT.
