Meet The Place's resident Gel Printing artist, Faye Maguire from ‘Create with MG', who, together with Helen, run various workshops on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at The Place.

Join Faye for a session of gel printing upstairs in the Art Room in The Place. Gel printing is a modern form of mono printing that allows people to create unique prints using a flexible gel plate without the need for a printing press. It is a fun and accessible form of printing that uses a soft, flexible gel plate to create unique, colourful and textured layered artworks. Paint is applied to a reusable gel plate (often made of a gelatin-like material), and participants then use tools like brayers, stencils, stamps, or even natural items (like leaves) to create textures and patterns before paper or fabric is pressed onto the plate to transfer the design.

Accessibility

Please note that there are some stairs to access this room, which are situated near the front entrance of the building. Although we will leave chairs at the bottom and the top of the stairs, this session may not be suitable for adults with mobility challenges due to building constraints.

This session is running to support community wellbeing and also to raise funds for the Sherwood Exchange—a local food hub that shares surplus groceries and reduces waste.
