There are many reasons why community rail organisations might want to undertake surveys from measuring your impact, large scale consultations, or gathering feedback from a small number of project beneficiaries. This short participatory workshop will unpack the theoretical and practical elements of doing a survey - share top tips for writing surveys, maximising responses and how to start analysing data. The workshop trainer will also introduce us to pre-validated questions and how these may be able to help us benchmark the responses we receive.

The workshop will be led by Lizzie Trotter, a Head of Social Impact and Wellbeing at State of Life.

Community Rail Network can use the free Impact platform for sending out surveys and this will be referenced in the workshop although the content will apply to surveys in general. For more information contact impact@communityrail.org.uk or have a look at the webpage

This workshop is for members of Community Rail Network only. Book a place via this eventbrite page and you'll get the zoom link out a couple of days before the session. Remember to make a note of the date in your own calendar to ensure you don't miss it.

The workshop will be on zoom and there will be a short comfort break mid session. The session will be participatory so we will expect cameras to be on for most of the time.
