Create your own visual novel in Ren’py @ Elevate Lowestoft

Learn a new way to make games with Ren’py! You will code a small visual novel, with characters appearing on each side as they talk. Add your own character art or import from valid sources, add music and share your game with the world!

You will:

• Learn how to use Ren’py to create narrative games

• Write dialogue for your characters and force your players to make tough decisions!

• Add characters into your game that can communicate with each other

• ⁠Learn beginner friendly Ren'Py script which is a great way to start learning how to code

• ⁠Learn how to upload your game onto Itch.io

Overview

This workshop is part of the Elevate:Lowestoft programme at The Fort in Lowestoft.

Attendance is free, but the tickets are limited. We will ask you to confirm your attendance ahead of the event, so we can move people up from the waitlist as necessary.

About Elevate:Lowestoft

Join in our free workshops and create games from Monday 16th February to Friday 20th February! In these hands-on workshops you will craft digital stories, eye-catching game art, essential game development skills, and connect with games industry professionals.

All participants will receive a full scholarship so you can join free of charge. Lunch will be provided and travel funding (reimbursement of up to £25 in total per participant) is available.
