Join the wonderful Jo Rooks, celebrated author and illustrator of beloved children's picture books, for a hands-on creative workshop where young storytellers will turn their imagination into a real book.
This playful session guides children through the complete process of creating a short picture book, from first ideas to final pages. With Jo’s expert guidance, each child will design their own book—full of color, creativity, and their unique voice.
What Kids Will Learn:
🖌️ Illustration & Storytelling: How to sketch characters, create engaging visuals, and match them with simple dialogue or narrative
📝 Story Development: Planning a story arc and refining content across 6–10 pages
🎨 Design Your Book Cover: Including adding the title, author, and illustrator name
📐 Book Layout Basics: Learn the foundations of layout & how illustrations support the story flow
🛠️ Editing & Refinement: Tips to polish artwork and tighten your story before “publishing” your mini-book
