'Creating a Resilient Future for Farming in Scotland' is a collective workshop bringing together farming, ecology and policy sectors to co-design a robust set of ‘manifesto asks’ or policy recommendations regarding the potential for regenerative agriculture in Scotland, ahead of the 2026 Scottish Elections.

Regenerative agriculture aims to make food production more resilient and sustainable by restoring soil health and improving biodiversity, working with nature rather than against it. Earlier in 2025 the British Ecological Society published its report ‘Regenerative Agriculture in the UK: An ecological perspective’ which concluded that effectively transitioning to a more sustainable farming future requires greater sharing of knowledge between farmers, ecologists and policy makers. To build on this goal, the BES’ Scottish Policy Group will host speakers from the farming, ecology, and policy sectors to discuss a shared vision for Scotland’s agricultural sector. This will include consideration of the constraints facing Scotland’s farmers, the trade-offs they face, the gaps in evidence needed to make decisions, and the optimal future agricultural and environmental policies.

Attendees will be invited to share their vision for Scotland’s agriculture, and how to achieve it. Following the event these will be condensed into a series of online polls to produce a cross-sector vision and co-designed asks for parties ahead of Holyrood’s Elections in May, 2026.

Join us at 14:00 on Tuesday 11th November at Albert Halls, Stirling.

Refreshments will be provided.

Agenda & Speakers TBC. Speakers will include both ecologists and farmers.
