About this Event
Creating a trauma-informed arts sector: What does that mean and why does it matter?
Over a series of five sessions, Dr Suzanne Zeedyk will lead a conversation reflecting on the movement now underway across society for individuals and sectors to become trauma informed. At the heart of healing trauma is making meaning of uncomfortable, confusing experiences. Artists do this instinctively: helps audiences to make meaning.
These sessions will ensure that the arts sector feels more informed about the trauma movement and, more importantly, to see how they are especially well-equipped to help in achieving some of its core hopes. In short, these sessions will help attendees to see more deeply the power and potential of what you already do.
These sessions are aimed at artists making work with and for early years.Priority will be given to artists based in Scotland.
Session 1 will include identifying themes and areas of interest to the particpants, which will be discussed further in the following sessions. Participants may register for individual sessions, but we advise attending all 5 if possible.
