Event Details

This is a free evening event for clergy, Lay Ministers, Children and Youth Workers who lead acts of collective worship in primary or secondary schools.

Many of us who are asked to lead School Assembly / Collective Worship feel nervous of what we are doing- what does the law say? How can I keep the students interested? Can I talk about my faith? What will the teachers think? www.assemblies.org.uk provides online support for the actual content, along with some resources on ‘how to’, but many people would rather learn together, in an encouraging environment that takes the fear out of the process. Thanks to grant funding, we can now offer training for those who lead Assemblies / Collective worship in our schools, offering a chance to network, share and learn together.

Creating Amazing Assemblies will be presented by Ronni Lamont

Ronni Lamont has formerly been a teacher of Science, and then Dance and Drama, Ronni was in Parish ministry for 16 years. Her last parish post was as Vicar of St John’s Bexley from 2001 to 2008. Ronni edits www.assemblies.org.uk, writes for ROOTS for Churches and occasionally for the Church Times, and is an associate lecturer on the Ridley Hall BA in Children and Youth Ministry. She has PTO (Permission to Officiate) in Rochester and Canterbury Dioceses.
