Event description
An introduction in to what accessibility means and why it is good for business

About this Event

The accessible tourism market is worth £12billion in the UK (source: VisitEngland). Can your business afford not to have a slice of this growing market?

Why attend? As a local business in Richmondshire, find out why accessibility can be good for your business. The aim of the event is for businesses in the area to consider accessibility as part of their business plan and how to get started.

Dispelling misconceptions Find out what accessibility & inclusive tourism really mean and not just the frequent misconception that is often heard : “It’s not worth me considering accessibility for my business as we are located in an old building with steps, so not wheelchair friendly and it would cost too much anyway, so there is no business case.”

What is Accessibility? Physical impairments such as mobility, hearing & visual. Mental impairments such as learning difficulties, dementia & autism. The accessible tourism market is worth £12billion in the UK (source: VisitEngland), of which less than 10% are wheelchair users.
