Description

This session will provide you with an understanding of how to create an effective poster for your target audience and its display location. It will cover how and when to utilise colour contrast, the evaluation of image style, layout and the rule of thirds, and text formatting for your poster to be readable and informative. This workshop is aimed at all student levels that require some basic/intermediate knowledge on the effective use of design for the visual communication of their research.

Intended Learning Outcomes:

  • Being able to apply the rules and processes of effective visual communication to individual or group posters.

  • Understanding of how to create a poster for a specific target market.

  • Have an awareness of effective visual communication that will allow to critically evaluate other formats of marketing.
