Creating an impact culture
Wed 26 April 2017, 10:00 – 12:00 BST
Following on from the success of What makes a good charity? NPC’s guide to charity analysis, the Leading Impact seminars will explore what an effective charity looks like. What makes a good charity? is intended to help charities and social enterprises assess their performance, and identify areas of strength and development, enabling them to improve and achieve more for the causes they are set up to serve. It also helps funders make decisions about the organisations they fund, and where to focus support.
Each seminar will explore a particular area we think makes an effective charity.
About this seminar
People make a charity what it is. Strong leadership, sound governance, a supportive and empowering culture, and effective engagement with the people the charity helps, will bring out the best in staff and volunteers—creating an effective team that is more than the sum of its parts. A confident team that with these characteristics and a focus on impact will achieve more for its cause. The seminar will explore:
- What good leadership looks like, including governance drawing on Above and beyond in trusteeship.
- Creating a healthy organisational culture that drives rather than blocks progress.
- Characteristics of effective staff and volunteer management.
