Creating an Organisational Coaching Culture
What do we mean by organisational culture? Put simply, is it ‘the way we do things around here’ or does it have greater depth to it than that? If we believe that coaching is about releasing someone’s capacity, then what would an organisational coaching culture, that enables that, be like?
• What would people think?
• What would they feel?
• What would they say?
• What would they do?
• How would you behave as a leader and how would that impact on those you work with and for?
Come to this workshop to debate this complex subject with us and hear from someone who has first-hand experience of working in this way.
Kate McKenna
Kate McKenna qualified as an Executive Coach and Mentor in 2014 achieving a distinction at ‘Masters Level’ from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Kate works extensively with senior leaders in school and the public service sector. She has experience of being ‘commissioned’ to provide executive coaching by individuals seeking support for growth, and organisational sponsors seeking support for performance improvement of individuals and the organisation as a collective.
Kate is experienced in supporting the development of transformational leadership skills and behaviours, supporting senior leaders to be highly performing, releasing the capacity of their teams and colleagues to perform highly also. Kate enjoys working with individuals, adapting and bespoking coaching interventions, designed to meet the needs of individual client’s, remaining cognisant of the organisational context in which they work.
Kate describes her coaching approach as based on ‘Appreciative Inquiry’, identifying and building on strengths, and ‘solutions focussed’ coaching methodology. She uses a range of coaching tools and techniques, tailored to the personality, characteristics, knowledge, skills and experience of clients. Kate explores with client’s, the organisational context within which they operate, to ensure that executive coaching interventions are organisationally as well as individually beneficial.
Kate is the Coaching Lead for The Staff College, working with an extensive pool of skilled and experienced coaches and mentors.
