Creating an Urban Village
Date and time
A talk about creating an urban village
About this event
Cities everywhere are facing major challenges. It is clear that unless we rethink the built environment, our towns and cities will become unsustainable, unaffordable and socially unequal.
We need to make housing affordable and livable to address inequality. We need to embrace shared living, intergenerational housing and mixed tenures to create inclusive urban communities. We need to reduce the climate impact of construction and living to alleviate the burden on local governments.
Can we create a different way of living which will address two global crises - housing and climate - in one cleverly designed new system?
